Welcome to Care Workers' Forum ...
...the only magazine dedicated to the work and lives of people who work in a care environment.
Whatever your job title - ‘Care Worker’, ‘Support Worker’, ‘Domiciliary Worker’ etc, etc – you are part of a unique group.
No other job requires workers do such a wide range of personal and practical tasks - to be totally involved with ‘clients’, help with personal care, encourage independence, be the day to day emotional and practical supporter, give of your personal qualities, undertake professional qualifications, be a jack of all trades - the list is endless.
Yet there has been little recognition of the toll this job takes on us both professionally and personally.
Low pay, no professional recognition, little or no representation.
But don’t let’s be down about it …………
This
internet magazine has been set up to redress the balance – the carers are starting to look after themselves!!
Inside you will find
articles to inform you, experience sharing, news, features and what we all need sometimes – a bit of fun and relaxation, all written by people who work or have worked on the ‘front line’ of the care industry and know the stresses, strains and pure pleasures of working in care!
Enjoy!
